Intelligent Life in the Universe

A million years from now humanity will encounter beings whose perceptional organs do not permit them to perceive us even though we will, of course, detect them. Humanity will attempt to detain them physically, and while they appear to not move as far as they are concerned, in their world they continue doing what they would have done had no "outside" interference affected them. In the alien's world, the non-perceived influence merely caused other normal fluctuations in their normal world.

If the tables were turned, theoretically, between the two species and their encounter of each other, might humanity not realize that they had been impacted or might even be presently impacted, by beings that we are incapable of perceiving, but are, nevertheless, present in their own reality?
